Direct Primary Care (DPC) such as LakelandMD, is an innovative healthcare model where physicians partner with their patients to provide primary care services under a flat, periodic membership fee. By moving outside of the administrative burdens of the traditional insurance-based billing system, DPC practices are able to provide a wide spectrum of care in a transparent, affordable manner. DPC practices—now a grassroots movement growing rapidly nationwide - are able to do this while offering patients a higher level of service, communication, and relationship, than what is often found in the dysfunctional healthcare system.
DPC arrangements can help employers reduce their healthcare costs. Instead of paying for each service provided over the course of a year, employers pay a low, flat fee per employee. Additionally, DPC membership fees are generally much less expensive than typical health insurance premiums.
Giving your employees access to a doctor 24/7 makes it easier for them to receive preventive and sick care, meaning that they are less likely to get sick or will be sick for a shorter duration. This results in less employee absences and less sick days, which is huge – especially for a small business.
DPC patients are >25%* less likely to be hospitalized each year, meaning that the people you count on to run your organization are more likely to be around when they under the care of a DPC like LakelandMD.

Yes, we do but we do not manage chronic pain and do not prescribe chronic pain medication. We do not have or keep any pain medication or controlled substances at the clinic. This is because these medications are heavily regulated, need substantial monitoring, have a high rate of diversion and for most patients, long term, are detrimental to their overall health.

No, we do not take any insurance and do not directly bill any insurance company. This is what allows us the freedom to be unique and more personal. Insurance is still needed for the services outside of the scope of our primary care practice. Check with your tax expert or human resources department regarding the use of health savings accounts, which may be used to pay your monthly membership. There are a number of different types of health plans out there and direct primary care practices can combine well with them to allow for improved patient care.
No Problem! Since we don't take or bill insurance no insurance is required. However, we do recommend some health insurance coverage for those catastrophic or more serious events for services that we don't offer. We recommend Sedera Health Share who partners with many DPC's throughout the country.
